Vocal is a small independent advocacy organisation operating in South and West Devon that helps adults with communication difficulties to understand and exercise their rights, make informed choices and speak up for themselves. This includes people with learning disabilities, brain injuries, dementia and mental health issues.
Vocal provide statutory advocacy as detailed in The Care Act and Issue based Advocacy for people who have a learning disability or communication difficulty in South and West Devon and Torbay.
Our advocates use a wide range of techniques and strategies – including technology and other media, to ascertain the views and wishes of people who have complex communication needs.
Vocal's main activity is one-to-one advocacy, however they also offer services in person centred planning and quality monitoring.
